Material Memory will be closing soon but you can bring part of this monumental exhibition into your home.
Make a donation to The Village and receive a portion of Olanrewaju Tejuoso's installation Osuka (2016). "Osuka" refers to the donut-shaped fabric forms used by people to support a jug of water or heavy object on their head; these forms are native to Tejuoso's home in Abeokuta, Nigeria. Over the course of 6 months, Tejuoso and a team of neighborhood artists folded, twisted and tied a mountain of fabric to produce hundreds of colorful Osuka. Available individually or in packs of 3, these modular works of art can be used to adorn a potted plant or playfully arranged on a wall.
Sizes range from 6"-"14" in diameter.
Price: 1 for $10, 3 for $25
